I remember a few years ago when I had just started in the fitness industry and I was desperately trying to get new clients. 

I had a traditional sales background behind me as was used to doing things like networking and getting referrals. 

I bought books and invested in courses on the subject 

“Get More Personal Training Clients”

… it was all focused on building relationships and getting those referrals. 

Bit of traditional local magazine advertising thrown in there and some much more modern google pay per click stuff and I should have a fully functioning training business in no time. 

However,

It didn’t quite work out like that. 

Things were

much slower. 

Before I knew it I had spent £600 on networking events, £1100 on leaflets and distribution, and £200 on local magazine ads – money that I didn’t have by the way – this was all on credit cards. 

and

all I had to show for it was 4 new clients. 

WTF?

Clearly something wasn’t being done correctly, but I was running out of space on my credit cards and still had massive bills to pay each month.

I needed leads and I needed clients and I needed them YESTERDAY!

I then invested in a well known PT sales and marketing course – to the tune of another £2k. The problem though that I didn’t realise at first was that the information was drip fed to me each month. ….

and the ‘Getting Leads’ bit didn’t arrive for another 2 months.

I was getting really desperate. 

I started to buy books on google pay per click. 

I liked this model as you could set a moderate daily budget while testing your ads out, and if you found one that worked you could scale it up.

Then I read something about Facebook starting up an advertising platform. 

It was early days and a bit rough around the edges but I loved the fact that you could get really precise with who you showed the ads to – sex, age etc. 

So I tried some out and had some luck. 

So I then scaled those ads up.

and

had some further luck. 

Then I invested the money I was making into learning more about Facebook Ads. I paid for expert mentors in this field to teach me how to do even better. 

Before I knew it I was getting a return on my investment of £97 for every £1 that I spent. 

So for every £100 I spent on my campaigns I was making around £9700!!

MENTAL!!

Having this certainty allowed me the confidence to go and get my own unit. 

I then scaled up again. 

I set up a campaign at the end of 2014 that cost me £234 and bought in 55 new clients – OFF ONE CAMPAIGN.

This was worth over £16000 to my business. 

I love the fact that I can turn on my ads and have quality and targeted leads coming in within minutes!!

This has changed the advertising game forever. 

I feel really lucky to have come across Facebook ads when I did and to have since mastered them as well as I have. 

Like anything, with a little bit of practice and patience you can also become an expert at this. 

…if you choose to do so then the growth of your business will be exponential. 

2016 could well be your best year yet if you have a system dialled in so that you can get quality leads on tap…on demand – whenever you want. 

The amount of trainers that I speak to though that say

“I gave Facebook ads a go and they didn’t work for me”

When pressed on this further they then say that they boosted a few posts,, spent a few pounds and didn’t get any leads so gave up.

REALLY?

GAVE THEM A GO??

You’re kidding right?

I would guess that you probably need to set aside between 4-5 hours to get your first campaign up (properly) and actually understand enough so that you’re able to do it again.

Most guys aren’t willing to do this though. 

It’s a lot easier to just post a motivational quote about ‘fitness is life…..” and then get a few likes. 

Each to their own I guess.
